About LegacyScape

My name is Adam, and in-game I go by Morgoth. I am the owner and designer behind LegacyScape, a free Old School RuneScape-inspired private server project created out of pure passion for the game that shaped so much of my childhood.

LegacyScape is my personal visual and gameplay tribute to the era of RuneScape that made me fall in love with the game in the first place — especially the 2005/2006 experience, before the Grand Exchange, when the world felt more community-driven, trading was personal, and every adventure felt earned. At the same time, I also appreciate some features and content associated with the 2007 era, so this project is meant to reflect that classic feeling with a few carefully chosen later-era inspirations.

This server is not meant to replace RuneScape, compete with RuneScape, or take credit for the incredible world that inspired it. In fact, I want to make this absolutely clear:

Non-Commercial Statement

LegacyScape is intended to be a non-commercial project.
I MAKE NO MONEY OFF THIS PROJECT.
Even though the server may reference Free-to-Play and Membership-style access, any membership access is not sold for profit and is instead obtained through vote shops / vote-based rewards, not as a commercial paid subscription model. The goal is not to monetize RuneScape content, but to celebrate the nostalgic experience that inspired this project.

Purpose of This Project

The purpose of LegacyScape is simple:

  • To capture the classic 2005/2006 RuneScape feeling
  • To reflect a world before the Grand Exchange
  • To preserve the social, adventurous, and nostalgic style of early RuneScape
  • To include select 2007-inspired features where they complement that classic experience
  • To share a fan-made vision of the game era that meant so much to me

At its core, LegacyScape is a love letter to the game world that inspired me, the community that made it unforgettable, and the old-school spirit that still lives on.
